Who am I supposed to be?

It is so easy to get caught up with the different standards the world imposes on who we should become. To be rich, to be fearless, to be successful, to be kind, to be your unique self. The types are endless and seemingly forceful.

In today’s reading, the question used as the title for this reflection poses itself as invalid. Psalm 91 simply tells me TO BE, to be where I needed to be -under the shadow of the Almighty. In the surrounding terror, He can be trusted that He is there. His rescue and protection are a prayer away. Disasters, wars, all of those things may happen, but none of those can actually destroy me.

I should not keep on bugging myself to be someone. I just need to be WITH someone, that is Christ. Being with Him changes me into a loving, kind person with FAITH because I am not afraid.
