What's Your Spirit Animal?

Don't you just find it interesting how people are like animals? Not the insulting kind of metaphor but their personalities reflect animal characteristics.

Someone's unending energy that won't go unnoticed is definitely a bubbly dog. Reserved people are like lonesome lethargic cats who'll socialize for a tiny bit and that's it.

Revelation 5 describes Jesus as not just one but two animals.

He is both a lion and a lamb.

While that is a popular Christian lyric, most often we're oblivious to its meaning.

The Lion of Judah. An alpha, one who is fearless, majestic, strong without a doubt. After all, HE IS THE SON OF GOD. His ways even 2000+ years later are still matchless.

The Sacrificial Lamb. One slaughtered without an inch of defense. He freely gave up His own life for the sake of humanity's redemption.

Jesus embodies authority and humility alike.

He is nonetheless a real life oxymoron where power and gentle love meets.

As a Christian, I have to be bold as lion knowing my identity in Him. At the same time, I have to be a lamb whose heart is always pure, depending on my Father every day.

The only way I can have courage and gentleness is to give God my heart (Joel 2:12-13) -to tear it of any inch of doubt and pride while taking in how God sees me as his beloved daughter.

My prayer is one day, when people around me are asked which animal reminds me of them, it won't be as simple as one. I hope that God would continue to change me each day making me braver while being kinder, more confident while being more compassionate.
