The Prostitute (Ezekiel 23)

She is worthy. She is precious. In the eyes of the One who formed her, she is a beauty to behold. Despite the showered love and undeniable favor, she was not satisfied. Finding joy in the One who designed her felt too simplistic.

Day after day, she yearns for something deep and would make the void go away.

"MEN. Perhaps, they can fill me up with what I need to feel'', she thought.

Without giving it much rationalization, she gave herself to men who seemed to care. She was in it for the complication, for the thrill, the danger, the pain.

She exchanged her precious body for a temporary fix. She threw herself at anyone who would want the same thing. Despite believing this does nothing to her soul, she loses herself every time.

Until a day of shame came like a ruthless wind.

Even what mattered to her was ransacked to the point of almost no retrieval.

She never wanted this.

But this is exactly what she needed: to be slapped with the harsh yet so merciful truth.

He was the only One who could ever truly make her free.
