While most are afraid of the uncertainty and the oblivion that goes along with death, the Bible paints a vivid picture of the after life.
"And we have a priceless inheritance—an inheritance that is kept in heaven for you, pure and undefiled, beyond the reach of change and decay." -1 Peter 1:4
What awaits in heaven is beyond the reach of change and decay.
I think I do not reflect on this enough. Most days, I just hope and pray to get through the week. To bear this in mind perhaps can alter the way I view the present -to treasure what's eternally relevant. Doing so will make me truly happy.
"So when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world."
What awaits before heaven are tests.
While aspiring to step foot and behold heaven, there is still a need for me to endure the trials the life here on earth entails. It is like the purification of gold. Nevertheless, the reward of trusting God is salvation. How come I still get surprised when this happens? I should get used to it.
Put all your hope in the gracious salvation that will come to you when Jesus Christ is revealed to the world.
What needs to be done before heaven is obedience.
A mind ready for action. Self- control. Both to prevent slipping back to the old ways of life. Live in reverent fear to God knowing He gives according to one's actions. I am merely a temporary resident of this world.
Christ has made a life of holiness possible through His own sacrifice. All the filth that sin brings into the picture can be made clean again. Anyone who comes to God can be forgive, legible for an inheritance in heaven. Endure hard times. Live righteously. Life can be lived victoriously while waiting for eternity.
