If there is one truth about God that can never be dulled by repetition is HE FORGIVES. When it feels like everything has been a wreck, faith in Him can turn things around. The merciful acceptance in itself is an amazing gift. However, a grand display of His loving nature as a Father does not stop there.
RESTORATION WILL HAPPEN. The Book of Ezekiel has its lengthy discussion of God's justice that does not cancel consequences. After doing so, there are numerous promises of turning hearts of stones into ones that are molded after His will. Dry bones will come alive again. A river of healing will flow even the Dead Sea will be a place where life will flourish.
Ezekiel talks about Israel. Whenever the Bible does, it mirrors us who are living in the present. Whatever sin has tore so badly, God can restore. This may sound hard to believe when we are faced with the ruins of our own choices. But it does! It takes faith to cling to this. Nonetheless, to hope in the restoration God can do is THE BEST THING TO DO. Anything less will lead further to a downward spiral.
"Whatever sin has tore so badly, God can restore."
To be God's child again and have no doubts about it.
To see the desires of your heart changed to what matters to God.
To have relationships with people that are no longer tainted by betrayal and mistrust.
To be doing what only seemed impossible.
God indeed the KING OF RESTORATION!
AN ALLOTED INHERITANCE WILL BE GIVEN. Tons of books in the Bible either has a theme of a divided land of inheritance or ends with it. Back in the day of the Israelites, these were in a literal sense -after a victory comes a distribution of what has been won. The New Testament tells that this inheritance is for everyone who believes in Christ is reserved in heaven. It could also be the Kingdom of God itself.
Dear friends, we are already God’s children, but he has not yet shown us what we will be like when Christ appears. But we do know that we will be like him, for we will see him as he really is. -1 John 3:2
Restoration is something we can experience in our lives here on earth. The full perfection however is when finally we meet Jesus and see Him as He really is. Even thinking about how majestic it can be fills my heart with this great expectation. Knowing God, it will surpass whatever my imagination has painted.
Jesus Himself and everything else He has prepared for in heaven for me will be our inheritance; both are imperishable and great.
The battle against sin and its destruction may look profound.
Believing that God can give a chance after all that has been done may seem like a huge step to take.
Nevertheless, God's restoration and intended inheritance is colossal, enormous that it is literally OUT OF THIS WORLD.
